I happened to make chickpeas tonight with plans for hummus later in the week, and voila I find your site. I have been making mine in the blender, which can get a bit annoying; it looks like you are getting great smooth consistency from the food processor so I'm giving that a go this time. Also, interesting idea to throw in the lemon pulp. I am sorry about the bad daughter bit, but I get you on the disappointment in brands. I find I can only buy one brand of hummus now, and even then homemade is still better. I think some people think I'm picky. But I think you get it!

Mark, that's what I like to hear! And cooking them a bit sounds like a good idea. Fresh cooked [from dry] chickpeas are also great in hummus.
Thanks for trying my recipe and letting me yknow, it's appreciated.

This was the best hummus I've ever made. The only thing I changed is I cooked the chickpeas in their own can water for 10 minutes to soften them up and take away some of the canned taste. I never like beans straight out of the can.

As long as you keep the hummus moving once you add the chickpeas, it should be fine. You can't over-puree this, so you could make it work. It might take a bit more water, but give it a try. I'd love to hear feedback.
